We're looking forward to welcoming you all at the session tomorrow morning. The meeting point will be outside the gates opposite York Bridge Road at 09:30. Google Maps Link Here.
If you no longer plan on attending the session please can you mark that you are no longer attending at the top of this page? This will then free up the space for those waiting to attend.
If you are not marked as attending then please do not turn up on the day, for health and safety reasons we need to maintain a specific volunteer to rider ratio.
@user135375, @user135714, @user135961, @user136145, @user136147 and @user95261 if you could please change your forum names to something more recognisable it will help should you wish to join the club after attending the session. It will make it easier to match your application up and get you into the club all the quicker.
Thanks.

Hi Jamie, Our intro rides and group skills sessions expire after 6 months. We also ask those who have let their membership lapse for 6 months or more to attend a session before they can re-join the club. This is a safety precaution to ensure that when people join/re-join they have an up to date understanding of all our signals and riding etiquette/formations, which keeps them and the rest of the club members safe out on rides together.
-
For those of you who attended the session last night, I'll be processing memberships later on this afternoon and then likely won't be able to do so again before Monday, so if you're looking to join in on any rides this weekend please get your application in before the end of the day as I wouldn't want you to miss out.
Thanks,
Sally

Hey, just bumping this thread ahead of tomorrow morning.
@AdamRowe, @AlexJ123, @amarco, @AshleyVardon, @AussieMatt, @Becks, @ChrisThompson28, @ChristineMaguire, @EmilyM, @Giulia, @Gold_M, @HarryRamis, @Jacob.L, @MihaiC, @MikeCK1, @Paolo-H, @RobbieGJ, @SamanthaSutton, @SofiaAllueva, @SophieH, @Tek, @Yasemin Thanks for signing up and changing your username so we can hopefully get your memberships processed quickly after the event.
@user130709, @user130762, @user99884 you may want to update your username to something a bit more recognisable just to make everything run a little smoother.
I hope you are all excited for our Group Skills session tomorrow morning. Please try and make it on time as it is essential for the safety briefing, but there is no need to come early.
If you are no longer able to make it can you please click "Can't make it" at the top of the page. As this will open up your spot and allow others to join. Demand for this ride is quite high and so if you reserve a spot but fail to attend we reserve the right to limit your attendance in the future.
Have a great time, we look forward to welcoming you to the club.

Hi, Sorry - work has gone mad this week (again! My whole team are in the middle of responding to ofwat on some governmental stuff that has a deadline of next week, every time we answer their questions they come back with more... but you don't need to know any of that!) I will hopefully get around to responding to all emails/membership applications tomorrow when I get a bit of breathing space.

Hi! I've not been able to sit down at my laptop over the weekend so plan on processing all outstanding applications today (I normally do this on a Monday and Thursday anyway), so you'll get a confirmation email from me this evening, or potentially earlier if I get a break from meetings today! You'll then be able to sign up for the club rides via the forum.
-
Hi Graham, club rides are back on but you need to sign up to rides in advance for control of numbers/Insurance reasons (we have to do this to comply with British Cycling's mandatory requirements). We also ask everyone to scan the ride leader's QR code for track and trace purposes. Assuming if you don't have the ability to see the rest of the forum then you're not currently a member? If you are a member then DM me your email address and I'll get your forum permissions sorted out.

Hi Steve,
Unfortunately all of our currently advertised sessions are fully booked (we have an unprecedented number of people wanting to join the club at the moment) but do keep an eye out in case people drop out last minute due to diary clashes.
Our Sunday club rides don't count as we have a set number of signals/instructions/riding formations we need to run through for health and safety purposes and official registers are taken at each event so that we can confirm attendance and get memberships processed.
We hope to put more sessions on as soon as we have enough volunteers to cover the ride, so hopefully you won't have to wait too long.

Hey, think you're in the wrong place... this is a ride from 4 years ago. You should be able to find a ride to join in this area: https://forum.islington.cc/microcosms/114/ under the green/silver/blue/black options depending on what speed and distance you're after
Hope that helps.

Looking at the attendance list for this event, there are a couple of you who have already attended a session and have successfully joined the club. If possible please can you relinquish your space so that others can take your spot and get their membership started? If you're still a bit nervous about club riding you will be in very safe hands on our Green Sunday rides and I really recommend going along to one of those to boost your confidence.
Thanks,
-
I've now processed all applications based on the attendee lists from the weekend. If you came on this ride and have made a membership application but you haven't had an email from me, then please drop me an email - [email protected] and I'll try and get it sorted for you asap.

Hi Darren,
I got your email earlier and posted in another section on the forum about this.
Unfortunately (so far) no one within the club can recall reporting this pothole. https://www.fillthathole.org.uk/ is a good source, both for reporting a pothole and investigating whether it had already been reported but it doesn't appear to be on there.
If anyone posts anything on the other thread that is of use to you then I'll be sure to pass it along, likely they will use this thread now if they come up with any thoughts on the matter.
Really sorry that this happened to you, I hope you can get some kind of resolution and obviously we send all the well wishes your way. Hope your injuries heal fast.
Thanks,
Sally -
Hi Rico,
I'm the membership secretary and the person responsible for processing all of our applications - I generally do this on a Monday and Thursday but it depends on when I can find time away from work/have an evening free.
You'll definitely be up and running before the weekend - I'll try and get yours sorted before the end of the day.
Thanks,
Sally

Hi Stephen,
Short answer is likely no, British Cycling are currently working to try and get Government to make small club rides exempt from lockdown, but the chances of that happening are slim.
As soon as we know one way or the other (which will likely be later on today or sometime tomorrow) we will of course let everyone know.

Hi James,
I should have any memberships processed today or tomorrow... I'll try to get them done before driving back to London from Norfolk this evening but currently have quite a lot to get through so please bear with me. I'll send you (and everyone else who's applied and attended this session) a confirmation email with more info as soon as I get to process everything.
Thanks,
Sally

Hi, this is a ride from last year so please don't show up on the 12th of September hoping to find us there. There are a few sessions taking place over the next month or so but we're really heavily subscribed due to a backlog of people wanting to join post lockdown. Lots of people drop out last minute though so keep an eye out.
-
-
Exactly that. When you join the club the email address you use to apply via British Cycling is what's given the forum permissions once you're approved as a member.
@JerryTate you should only need your email address to log in - we don't use any kind of membership number. Please let me know if you're having issues getting access.
-
Hi Chris,
If you check on the forum a bit closer to the weekend, people will start to post rides that you can join. At the moment you should avoid turning up to the park without signing up to a ride. This is due to the current guidelines on group number and our club need to be able to track and trace riders should we need to, so we have to make sure that everyone is registered against a particular ride.
Thanks,
Sally
Hi, not me any longer, you want @GeorginaH... she can sort you out, though you should get a few email reminders with a month or so to go before you need to renew.
