+AdamS I've just noticed 2 drop outs above if you want to join us still. If not, see you soon hopefully

Hello
this is just a reminder that you have signed up for tomorrow's intro ride. If you can no longer make it, please drop out above, both to free up places for anyone else and so we know how many to expect. And bear with us if we are not 100% as its the Club Christmas party tonight!
Stephen
ps for two of you - you are names not numbers! Changing from user012345 will make admin much easier if you do decide to join

Welcome. Unfortunately it looks like Saturday will have some very English weather but I hope you will enjoy our ride. We have many members of different nationalities and one of our members +ColinFisher spends much of his year living in Italy and has twinned our club with his Italian club so I hope we can make you feel at home.

I don't think Alec will be there but I and 3 other club members will be. Feel free to ask any questions in advance.
The weather forecast isn't looking great but the ride will go ahead regardless. Please all come suitably equipped. If you have to drop out, because of the weather or for any other reason, please let us know by cancelling your attendance as above, as we may not need the full complement of volunteers.
We meet in the park and there is no shelter. I normally turn up a bit early for these rides and if it's pouring down you may find me in The Spoke which is on the other side of the road, a bit closer to Archway, but I will be at the park for 8.30am as advertised.

As one of the leaders of this session, we're looking forward to meeting you and riding with you on Saturday. I know some of you signed up a while ago so, if you can no longer make it, please free up your space. Also, if your username is a number, changing it to something like your real name would make processing a subsequent application to join much easier. And there are still places available if you want to bring a friend

Or you could join the group skills session this Saturday https://forum.islington.cc/events/4961/#comment14848056 - 5 spaces left

It's worth watching out in case people drop out closer to the time or you could join a Group Skills session instead. There are still 2 places (only!) left on https://forum.islington.cc/events/4842/#comment14800585 and lots on https://forum.islington.cc/events/4844/#comment14757295

Glad to see that 7 of you have signed up. Hopefully we will get some more as these sessions are often fully booked. The weather forecast looks a bit damp. In case you were wondering, the session will go ahead but do bring suitable clothing, especially as we will be standing around and talking a bit and cycling relatively slowly. Do cancel your attendance if you can't make it and please try and make your username something like your real name as that helps with admin if you decide to join. Any questions in advance, please ask.

Depends partly on what you mean by "normal bike" and mainly how fit you are. The key thing is are you (as above) "Capable of riding 25 miles at an average speed of at least 12 mile per hour, with several steep hills and only brief stops." This ride does a loop out of London so its only fair on the group as a whole if we set a minimum speed. So you would need to be considerably fitter to manage the ride on a full suspension mountain bike or a folder than on a road bike but you certainly don't have to have a road bike.
Keep checking, as people tend to drop out as the date approaches. Fully booked for now!
