Hi @Quentin, @schu, unfortunately we do limit the size of these sessions. So unless you have signed up, can I ask that you do not attend the session. People do drop out at the last minute, so keep checking.
If you haven't ridden with us before, you are allowed up to 3 rides as a guest (including any Group Skills or Intro Ride sessions). So you would be more than welcome to attend the 8am laps around regents park tomorrow. If you do, just make sure you arrive a little early to introduce yourself, and tell the group you are ridding with that it is your first ride with us,

@Emma_Foot just a reminder that tomorrow is Intro Ride Day!!! Yay!If you can no longer make it, could you please free up your space so someone else can grab it. Cheers.
-
@JoeHarvey that's absolutely fine. It would be good to turn up a little earlier than 8:30 and explain to the group that you join that you've done the GS session, but that it is your first Sunday ride. Have fun.

Hi @DavidW, @Daniel.JD,
To attend the Intro Ride you need to sign up for the ride by using the "Yes, I'm attending" button, on ride page https://forum.islington.cc/events/3348/
It looks like the ride it currently full, but if you keep checking the page you might see a space become available.

Hi Jennifer,
The group skills sessions are designed to focus on group riding and communication, with constant instruction and feedback. To that end we find the inner circle of Regents to be a great place to hone these skills.
We do also offer the intro ride, which looks more at the group experience, while also covering a the core skills. The next one of those is on the 7th of October.

@SusanLeese, @Hamiltonian, @Beatriz, @NeillRuss, @Bloogsy, @KalleMeyer, @user80817, @sacha_beazlewitz, @Heather, @JonMusker, @Benlaing, @rossv, @Marcin, @Vishal, @NaomiB just a reminder that tomorrow is the intro ride. If you haven't already had a read through the information Anthi posted, please have a look through it beforehand.
Looking forward to seeing all of you at the park tomorrow.

@Proper89 there is a space currently free
-
Okay thanks for trying @Vishal I can't delete it, but I'll see if someone can look into it.
-
@user80817 & @user80827 just to confirm, are you the same person signed up twice? If so can you follow Anthi's advice above to release one of your spots.
(If you are two separate people, ignore me :D )
-
Hi @sacha_beazlewitz, that's pretty much correct.
On the day we'll take the names of all the people who attend the session. These will then be passed on so you can then complete the membership process.

Hi there djh,
Intro rides focus more on the ride itself. We cover the basic skills of riding in a group and then go out and put those skills into practice in the real world, over a ~50k ride. This is generally quite a relaxed pace, replicating a normal club ride and helps people understand whether group riding is for them.
The group skills session is just about the 'skills'. Here we explain the skills in a lot more detail and after explaining each one we then practice it over a number of laps of the inner circle in Regents Park. This is more for people who know group riding is for them, and want to refine their skills.
Ideally all people who do the Intro Ride would also do the group skills session at some point. If you do the Group Skills session, there would be no need to the Intro Ride.
Hopefully that helps.

Jake, the next Intro Ride will be on Saturday 2nd of September. I don't believe there is a post for it yet, but if keep checking the forum and it should be up soon.
If you are fairly comfortable cycling long distances and just want to see what group riding is like, why not try one of the group skills sessions?

@Claire_Mawer, @user79014, @user79229, @akc360, @user79231, @user79288, @user79112, @alexcohenbike I just want to say sorry for everyone who turned up for today's session.
All of us who run the session are volunteers and it appears that no one was available for today. This is something we should have realised and shared with you, but unfortunately this did not happen.
I hope this hasn't dampened your desire to join ICC and I hope we'll see you all at a future session.

You can find them all listed out in the forum.
The next one is on the 22nd

Hi @user79231 you still need to take part in a formal skills session, either the Intro Ride or the Group Skills Session. Since you did the Great Escape I would recommend the Group Skills session. In fact if you are free tonight we are running one at 6:30pm.
If you can't make it tonight, then we have a number of other Group Skills sessions running every month, just sign up to one of these. In the meantime as a non-member you are more than welcome to join us on up to 3 club rides before needing to sign up.
As for BC membership, 'Ride' is more than fine (it's what I have). So no need to change anything.

@Apotey, @eggraidonmojo, @user78998 & @Oddsy1 just a reminder that this Thursday is the groups skills session and it would be great if you could have a read of the ICC Group Riding Guide beforehand.
To confirm the meeting point is at 6:30pm in the Inner Circle of Regents Park, at the gates opposite York Bridge.
Myself and @DanOhMan will be running the session and I look forward to seeing you all then.

Thanks for letting us know @AndrewMatth, see you at one in the future.
@LettySteer, @EdM, @BWynne57, @BaoHo, @ewo, @user82115, @joshlassen, @Coxy, @MiraBoyce, @FloChapple, @dermot_london, @SamBailey, @AndyC, @fw, @Daniel.JD, @user81173 just a reminder that tomorrow is Group Skills day! If for any reason you can't make it, can you please indicate this at the top of the page so other people can take your place.
Looking forward to seeing you all.
