@KatieC, your interpretation is spot on. If you are happy riding with a small backpack for the 40Km ride, please come with one. If you are wearing a cycling jersey you generally could also stash tube, pump etc in the back pockets.

Sorry, but your name does not seem to be on the list of the attendees.
If the button still reads 'Yes I'm attending!' it means that for some reason it didn't work; please try once more.
Once you are on the list the button will change to 'Can't make it' (obviously, don't press it!) -
@PatrickH and @sophnaylor, please scroll to the top of this page, to just before Zac's post, and press the 'Yes, I am attending' button to sign yourselves up for the intro ride.

Stephen, how badly would I be frowned upon by showing up without mudguards?
If it is a if big deal I will join you another time (either on good weather or with a properly equipped bike)
