Most people do something silly like taking up motorbikes when they hit mid life. I did it in reverse, sold my motorbike and now starting to take cycling a little more seriously than previous commuting only.
Did the Prudential London-Surrey 46 last year, now have a place riding in the 100 this year. Have now decided that my interest is in rides that are shorter than 100 miles, at a gentle pace, feature few if any hills and cake stops
Trained as a saddler, and make hand stitched leather goods (e.g. belts, bags, card cases) using traditional saddlery techniques
