  • Hi All,

I've been commuting daily to work on my bike for around 6 months now and absolutely love it, but I now want to do more focused riding on weekends/evenings.

I'm moving to a flat in Tufnell Park and after some research it turns out you will be my local club!

I'm intending on getting a proper road bike through the cycle to work scheme, but until then I'm on an old SS steel racer. It's been perfect for commuting, but I'm not sure how I'll do up Swain Lane!

I was going to pop along to the 8am regents park run in a few weeks, I'm looking forward to meeting some of you!

However, I am aware that my current bike might not be appropriate, could someone advise whether I should wait until I have purchased a proper bike before coming along?

    Thanks,

    Tom

As long as your bike has two brakes (and is generally roadworthy), then it is fit for purpose. Regent's Park is pretty flat, so you should be fine with one gear.

Swain's is doable on a SS/fixed-gear bike, but it is easier with a selection of gears.
