Hi all, the RideLondon-Essex event has now launched and the ballot for general places will open on 10 November for this awesome event.
Due to our involvement in cycling, we here at Qhubeka have secured 10 spots for folk who want to take part and raise funds for Qhubeka.
Min. fundraising will probably be around £1,000 TBC.
Do let me know if you are keen to take a place or have a chat! I predict they will go quickly as the general ballot will be massively over-subscribed. Many thanks all! 🖐 #bicycleschangelives

Cheers Stephen, appreciated! It’s depressing how many people are being horrific online about this incident. Check out the comments section on the CyclingNews and Rouleur stories here:

Well almost free... :)
In all seriousness, I am servicing, fixing, fettling and replacing parts/upgrading bikes in Islington for no cost except parts (where needed) and a request for a donation to the amazing Qhubeka cycling charity (hope folk know us from being the charity for the Tour de France, the London Revolution, the Cape Epic and also the Team Qhubeka Assos team in the World Tour?)
Essentially, we raise funds to get children and women on bikes in South and Southern Africa to improve their lives through better access to education, healthcare and work. We are currently supplying bikes to key healthcare workers across the region. Check us out on our social media channels for more info or Qhubeka.org
We have fixed 450+ bikes in Islington now, and raised over £16,000!
Drop me a reply on here or WhatsApp to 07741536809 to discuss your bike fix needs! 🖐 #BicyclesChangeLives -

Wow! We had no idea if many folk would come and overwhelmed to say we handled 32 bike fixes in 6 flat-out hours! Non-stop mechanic-ing and our volunteers ‘front of house’ were amazing. We will be back next Saturday and the one after, at the Boulevard Market on Islington Square from 11-5pm. Come along! Tell your friends! Free winter cycling gift with all fixes too! 🖐

Hi all,
After a three week hiatus (to recharge and get a bit of time in green scenery) we are back and offering free bike fixes in the N1 (Islington) area! So far we have fixed and serviced over 250 bikes during lockdown and awesome N1-based folk have donated over £13,000 to the Qhubeka bike charity!
Qhubeka is a UK registered charity and gets children and women on bikes in South Africa and across Africa to get them better access to education, health, jobs, amenities and a brighter future. Our motto is #BicyclesChangeLives 🖐
The service is free of charge (not including parts) and if folk want to give a donation to our charity, all good! If you have a £50 Bike Repair voucher (the new government scheme) we are registered with them also now so can accept these too. We aim to turn your bike around in 24hrs or less! Certain parts can now be sourced from several distributors of many major brands, within reason.
Send me a message on here or Whatsapp on 07741536809 to book your bike in!
Here is a brief film we made with the Tour de France (we are their current lead charity) about what we do:

Thanks Sean, happy to help anyone that needs a tweak, a service or anything more substantial maybe... Electronic transmissions and major disc brake bleeds are tricky right now but waiting for some new kit from Park Tools so might be able to offer the latter soon.
Qhubeka UK is now a brand ambassador for Muc-Off and Park Tools so I can also guarantee that bikes are getting a 5* treatment too!
