I think it's great for commuting but I can't see club roadies or training roadies ever using it.
As Laura says, weight is more of a focus, so lights tend to be small and lightweight. Also, while I have not used it, this design of light could interfere with getting items from jersey pockets and get in the way of the behind-the-back hand signals we use.
