@nazar @RickyDolez @Jacob @Tom_BWe’re looking forward to seeing you on Saturday for your intro ride with Islington. If you haven’t already, please can we ask you to reconfirm you’ll be attending by adding your name to the list below. If you’re not able to make it anymore, please remove yourself by unclicking the ‘Yes, I’m attending’ button at the top of this page. Just a friendly reminder that we have six club members volunteering to lead the ride so we’d much rather you tell us in advance if you can’t attend rather than a no-show on the day 😊
Any questions, please do ask and I’ll be more than happy to help.
See you on Saturday

Hi all
Lovely to meet you today. Any questions, just email me at [email protected] or leave a message on this thread. If you’d like to join the club you can use this link: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/club/profile/2040/islington-cycling-club -
Hi everyone - lovely to meet you all today. Here’s the link on our website if you’d like to sign up for membership of ICC. On this page https://islington.cc/membership you’ll find the link that takes you through to British Cycling, which is how we manage our membership. Importantly, please read through the FAQs on our website before you purchase your membership - this is important if you want to purchase membership of British Cycling at the same time. If you do want BC membership (it’s separate to ICC membership) there’s a discount code included in the FAQs. Any questions, please feel free to ask. 😊

Hi there. The club insurance doesn’t cover individual members, but covers the club if there are any claims made against us by a third party. If you’re looking for insurance to protect your bike against damage or theft or if you’re looking for legal protection, most people will take out individual insurance (there are loads of different providers like Laka, Yellow Jersey, Bikmo, Sundays etc.). Some of the categories of British Cycling membership also have legal protection included with membership.
Hope this helps 😊

Hi there
You don’t need to do anything else at this point. A few days before the session you’ll be asked to reconfirm your attendance so that we can be sure who’s going to turn up. In terms of editing your name, you should be able to do this on the top right of the screen…there’s an edit profile option there. If you're on mobile, click on the hamburger menu on the top left...you'll then see you ID pop up underneath - then click on the image (you can change this to a photo of yourself also), then click on the three dots on the top right hand side of the page and you should get an edit profile option. It's more straightforward on desktop, but a little more hidden on mobile! -
Thanks for a great ride this morning - lovely to meet you all.

Hi there. I think maybe you’re confusing the sign up form for the group skills session on Saturday with the joining process for becoming a club member? To join the club you need to complete a group skills session )which you did on Saturday) and then apply for membership via British Cycling. This is the link: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/club/profile/2040/islington-cycling-club

Hi
The speed order is green, silver, blue and black. You can find the details on the Islington website here: https://islington.cc/ride-pacing -

Lovely to meet you @DanClements
I had another puncture on leaving the pub to add to the collection! It was a huge thorn probably from where the farmer was clearing the hedgerow on the route….aaarrrgghhh!!!!! -
Hi @Yiannis.K
Oh no! Sorry about that. Can you share the email address you used on the application? I will check with the membership Secretary asap. -

Hiya. I’m sure that’s fine. I’ll let Emma, who’s leading that ride tomorrow, know to expect you. My own ride tomorrow is actually leaving at 8am, so I won’t see you at Highbury Fields, but if you turn up tomorrow about 8:20am there’ll be plenty of time to find the right group. Someone will announce which groups are going where so it should all be pretty self explanatory.
This is the link for the route.

As a follow up, for those who were asking: once you’ve signed up and paid for your membership via the website, you can join up to three ICC rides while you’re waiting for your membership email to come through.
For those interested, there is a green lama loop ride that’s just been posted on the forum. This is a Lovely first ride with the club. Very social pace. As you don’t have access to the full forum yet, you won’t be able to sign up through the normal way, but if anyone is interested for tomorrow, please let me know and I’ll let the ride leader know to expect you. It would be 8:30 start from Highbury Fields. Cafe stop at about 40k in. Total ride I think is around 65k. Just to reiterate, you will need to have paid for your membership in order to be able to ride tomorrow.
