FYI the visibility of the forum for non-members changed recently. It went from 4/5 forums to 1/5 (Clipping In). Once this is sorted you should be able to see all 5 forums.

It would be hugely helpful if you could change your forum name in the settings menu in order for us to easily trace people who are attending. Otherwise we will have loads of people called userXXXXX and it get's awfully confusing!

38kph+ for 7am is a good bet
8am has loads of groups ranging from high 20s to mid 30s.

This has indeed changed - within the last week or two. The only forum visible to outsiders is "Clipping in" whereas before third parties could see/contribute to all forums excluding "The Clubhouse".

In the meantime, as @LinusR says, just rock up at 8.20am and introduce yourself, you will quickly be pointed in the direction of a suitable ride. Do make sure you read the group riding guide first though - lots of important safety stuff in that.
There is also a more formal Introduction Ride which happens monthly, with limited spaces. Here is the link to that thread, which you will be able to see

The only way you can claim a space on the ride is to click "Yes, I'm Attending!" at the top of this thread.

Yes, certainly! If you turn up 10 or so minutes early and tell somebody in an ICC shirt they will be incredibly friendly and helpful and point you into a suitable ride.
These days, there seems to be 2 or 3 C rides every Sunday so you are sure to find one that suits your needs.

One thing that came to mind was to require attendees to send an email to the organiser (outside the forum) within 7 days of the ride confirming that they are still interested, only then releasing the details of the meet-up point etc. to them via email.
This would stop the individuals that sign up on a whim ages before hand, subsequently forget and never go on on the forum again.

It was noted that fewer than the prescribed 24 ended up attending on Saturday, which I feel was a shame considering there were one or two people on the forum that we had to disappoint. Maybe there should be a rethink to how places are assigned?

@Calum_H I would wait for the powers that be to confirm ( @Sir_Shannonball @Orestis ) however here is a potential solution:
(This assumes that membership is £25 and membership+jersey is £50)
Go to club shop and order anything that will total £25 (making your total up to £50). When the site asked to append extra comments related to your order say something like "I don't actually want this stuff this is just to pay the extra to get my joining jersey". Our kit manager, @Alex will then read this and not process your order.
Then just go to Micycle and pick up a jersey
