Over the years I worked at St Pauls (Farringdon Road/Ludgate Circus), Waterloo (The Cut), West End (Mortimer Street) and Spitalfields. Occasionally I covered shifts at London Bridge too.
IIRC, Ali bought the bike in our Mortimer Street branch. I don't miss working retail one bit, but getting trade prices again would be nice!

So weird catching up on this, and seeing pics of former members I had no idea had ever been involved with the club! Particularly Alison Alexander who was a regular at the Evans I worked at back in those days... I actually sold her the bike I see in some of the pictures you've posted David!
... in fact the guy next to her in this pic was the Head Mechanic at the store..! (I think they dated for a while?)...

Hi all,
I hear there were some mixed messages about next steps to join the club so though I would outline here.
If you enjoyed today, and are keen to be a member of London's friendliest cycling club, please go to this site and follow links to join the club.
This will send your information to our membership secretary who will cross-reference our list of names and your info from British Cycling and approve your membership. At the moment we have lots of new members and, as our club is entirely run by volunteers, things take time; please allow a couple of weeks for this to be approved before chasing it up.
Thanks for coming, any questions feel free to ask here...
See you on the road! -
Hi everyone, looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow and showing you round our intro ride. A small bit of housekeeping first:
- If your username is still user123456 (eg) please change it to something more individual so we know who we are looking for tomorrow and throughout the membership process. This can be done by clicking the pencil icon in the top right of this page.
- Also, if you are now unable to make this event, please click the button that you can no longer attend so others can join and we aren't waiting for you unnecessarily.
See you tomorrow,
George - If your username is still user123456 (eg) please change it to something more individual so we know who we are looking for tomorrow and throughout the membership process. This can be done by clicking the pencil icon in the top right of this page.

Hi Andrea,
The next group skills sessions can all be found here. To save our volunteers' time they are put on the site in batches. After the next event (22/06) I imagine more will be listed for you to join.
Hope that helps,
GeorgePS. Please update your username to something more personal, it makes the registration process a bit smoother for us. This can be done by clicking 'edit profile' in the top right.

Hi Roberto,
You can find the Group Skills Rides that are scheduled here.

Hi Sameer,
I wouldn't worry about that! There are 'green' paced rides that run most weeks that are perfect for new members to get used to group-riding. The intro rides in this section of the forum are really for prospective members to learn the rules before they join the club and start to practice them.
I know it can be daunting, but I would look at the green rides section of the forum, and jump in with a group there. That way you get more practice riding with experienced riders that will help you along the way, and you don't take a spot for a prospective member looking to learn the ropes. Hope that makes sense? Welcome to the club, I look forward to seeing you out on the road!

Hi Giacomo,
Have a skim through the group riding guide if you fancy it, otherwise, no! Just turn up on the day and the ride leaders will explain the session and the next steps in person.
Hope to see you on the road soon!

There's still one spot! Get it while it's hot.

Hugh,
When I looked earlier (just after @OllyCT 's post) the counter said 16/17, so I guess someone jumped in in the meantime.Keep an eye out though, spots do come up, especially the day before.

@jlpicken1 Don't turn up at 6.30 am like I nearly did!
