Hi John,
Typical C-ride might be 30-40 miles so at 12-14mph you might expect to be back around noon plus or minus any punctures or cake stops. There will be longer rides happening, and group speeds vary depending on the route and riders, so best to factor in some slack to your schedule!
Unless people are advertising specific routes in advance then it is largely dependent on what any volunteering rider-leaders offer in the park on the day. You can check the forums to see if there are any pre-planned routes and sign up to those, subject always to the numbers ride-leaders are happy to take.
Once you've been on a few rides and got a feel for the club, don't forget to volunteer to lead a ride or two as the sucessful running of the club relies on people stepping up to help!

Hi Eugene,
There will be several rides going off: see the A, B & C ride threads to find something appropriate. If there's nothing specific on the threads, rides will usually be offered ad hoc on the day.
If you're new and its your first club ride then make sure to introduce yourself as such, and join a C-ride. -

Hi Jon_S,
I started at the same level as you 8 months ago and never made it to an introductory ride as they were full up. Turn up to a Sunday C ride, keep your wits about you and listen to everyone - especially your ride leader - and you'll be fine. Let people know you're new and you'll be given advice: its a very friendly and helpful club. Your skills will improve - indeed the club holds specialist skills sessions frequently - and before you know it you'll be leading a C-ride. -

Nice to meet some of you this morning, thanks to @christian for your guidance.
Looking forward to a ride tomorrow! -
Thanks @Martine, I'll be sure to sign up - looks like they are pretty popular from reading the threads!
Am hoping to join the Saturday 8am crew at the zoo in RP. -
Hi Martine,
I've done a couple of 100k+ sportives, most rides are 70k Epping Forest trips, otherwise I'm to be found buzzing around Regents Park and Richmond Park. I've only really just started, got my first bike less than a year ago.
I've done a few group rides but got a lot to learn still. Riding solo I can get round the parks in about 7 & 21 minutes but hoping to bring those times down! -

Good ride today guys - those who could be bothered to turn up - 7 out of 17 isn't good considering there are people keen to get on these rides.
Remember to communicate calls up and down the group, especially if the group is splitting.
