Give the C-rides a go Jack @DTM_GD Just be there 10 minutes before (so 8:20) and ask someone in ICC kit to give you instructions on signs. You should be fine.
I would still recommend to join an intro ride as on this ride we explain and show why we ride in a group the way we ride in a group and we have more time to practise and give feedback. The next one will be in a month and will be announced next week.

That sound like you should fit in just fine @Charliee I won't be there this weekend but I am sure there will be plenty of ICCers to make you feel welcome.
-
Dear @Charliee you are more then welcome to join up to 3 rides with the club before joining to see if you like it. The C-ride this Sunday is a good way to start.
Do you have any group riding experience (not a problem if not, we will show you) and what distance do you normally ride? We encourage everyone to do an intro ride, as here we go through all aspects of group riding skills but you can join our other rides before this ride.
-
@user57065 Depends on if you have ever ridden in a group before and your own confidence. @alexD any thoughts? If you decide the skills only, you can come a bit earlier (around 9 am) to drink some coffee/tea in the cafe in the inner circle to meet some members.

@Stella out of experience more places will come up
-
Signup and you will receive an email with all info from @Orestis

Dear @Kate2510 The intro ride is full at the moment, but often places come free in the final weekend before the intro. We encourage all new members to do an intro ride, which are organized once a month.

Before you have a place you are welcome to join a C-ride or Regents Park if you are happy with distance and speed. See orestis his post above for more details.
Hope to see you soon

best to post in the Saturday http://forum.islington.cc/conversations/260007/?offset=275#comment12452888

@Thibaud Much better solution: take the wife with you to ride as well!
-
Just to add, although a C-ride may start with a lower speed target, it is up to the leader to increase the speed if and only if the whole group can cope with a slightly higher speed (making sure nobody is dropping of). Often when the group is cohesive people can do a lot faster than expected. I have also seen the opposite, a lot of climbing, lower average but still a great ride. Weather also has influence.

Welcome @Jmc
-
@Jon76 once you have become a member @Orestis will send you an email with all the info about the club. This will also includes the location where to pick up your jersey. The size question at registration is just for indication, and you can try different sizes when you pick up the jersey. We are running low on certain sizes at the moment but the new stock should come in September.

Dear @Bea, is this a fixie or do you have some gears. If you are happy to go up hills like Archway (we are not doing Swains Lane type of hills but you can't avoid hills in London), then you should be fine. We do a loop of 43 km.
Dear @TerryLDN
The cycling bug is very addictive and you are more then welcome to join our club.
I would suggest
The Sunday rides have a different route each week and go into Essex/Hertfordshire etc. The speed is on average 12-14 mile/h (depending on the group, we will not drop anyone).
Saturday rides are loops around RP, with groups of different speeds.
If you join a C-ride or saturday ride before, come 10 minutes before the start to have someone show you the signs we use. You should still do the intro ride as soon as possible, as here we show how and why we ride as a group.
We allow up to 3 taster rides to see if you like the club before we ask to join the club.
If you have any more question, just let me know.
