Thanks for coming along to this everyone, a great group and hopefully a fun first session for you! I hope to see many of you out on a ride soon and for those that have signed up, I would recommend the next group skills session to help build confidence (I will probably be attending too as you always learn something new!)

It looks like somebody beat you to it on the attending list, d'oh! There will be rides from Whittington Park on Sunday (8.30 depart) so you should have more luck trying one of those. I'd suggest the C-group for the first run so you can attempt group riding over a distance that you're comfortable with. I'm not sure who is leading it this week but just let them know that it's your first time when you get there and it should be gravy

Yes, what @Laura says. I missed that out as I was still half asleep!

Hi @Dee I've replied to you in the message BUT as there are probably others in the same boat I'll repeat the main bits. If you've taken the plunge and joined an ICC club ride/laps session and don't have an intro ride place then I recommend giving the normal rides another go and joining the next group skills session as you''ll have already the basics from the intro in those

@sarah47033 it looks like the session is full for this month as I can see 15/15 attendees above. Look out for next month and we can let you know if a place comes available on this one

Hi @Jack_S, good to have you on board. Not sure who is leading tomorrow but if you turn up to Whittington Park at 8.20am and listen out for the folks giving out the ride details they should say who is leading. Normally once that has happened, the groups split up in the park so it's easy to see who is who and then each leader gives a little bit of a briefing if required. As it's your first time on an ICC group ride I'd suggest introducing yourself to the leader once they make themselves known, mainly just so everyone knows your face and to say hi! Hope you have an enjoyable ride

Great, that's good news :) As for the membership, I think we recently took a new delivery of jerseys so if the size you order isn't right I'm sure you could exchange it for one that is. @paul.b might be able to confirm this

If you're comfortable with 16-18mph over 60 miles then you're welcome to come along, see the thread and flag your interest there. @LuisEm's team is doing 15-18mph and I believe there is another sub 20mph team going too. As long as you're at Islington Green before 7am then there shouldn't be a problem.

That's good to hear @Michael_James, are you also used to riding in a group? It's just an extra thing to be aware of!

Thanks @Shannonball, I look forward to it! :)

Hi guys. I went on the Intro to cycling with @Ali and @Laura on Saturday and had a good time, they mentioned the Sunday riding and it sounds right up my street. Would it be OK joining you guys this Sunday and if so is there any particular start/meet time for group cycling beginners (I cycle regularly on my own if that makes a difference)?

@Ali just to check, are we meeting at the Holloway Road entrance to the Park or elsewhere?
-
@Ali that would be great, thanks!

Hi Sam
The meeting point is outside London Zoo entrance on the outer circle, we aim to set off at 8am so if you try to get there 5-10 minutes beforehand we'll definitely still be there!!
