Hello,
I just want to check whether you think my bike is suitable for this – I ride a Thorn steel frame touring bike (with drop handlebars). It's a good bike in itself but being steel isn't the lightest. Am I likely to have problems keeping up with the club using this bike in the short term before committing to buying a fancier race bike?

Gah I am all kitted up and ready to go but just as I was putting some last minute air into my tyres the inner tube valve tore! I'm not speedy enough to do a puncture repair in 10 minutes and get still get to you guys on time so I'll have to come along to the next one. Really sorry for the last minute cancellation.
