PS if your friend is a beginner I highly recommend catching train out of London, it is just so much more relaxing. Nothing like cycling up the A1000 to put someone off cycling for life!

I spent the last long weekend in Suffolk, based in a b&b near Sudbury. Suffolk is great cycling country, pretty flat, you can find lots of quiet roads, lots of pretty villages (Lavenham is a must for a cake stop) and the Dedham vale area of outstanding natural beauty.
You could catch the train to Sudbury (assuming no rail replacements) and head north out of there towards Acton and Lavenham and then do some sort of loop to the East (e.g. https://www.strava.com/activities/964959505), and then on day 2 could do loop northwards towards Bury St Edmunds with stop at Maglia Rossa cycle cafe. Can easily cycle to Cambridge too, very nice route we took on the way back, hardly any cars on the roads: https://www.strava.com/activities/966381571

Hi there, I did my first sportive last week and met a couple of your members. Keen to join the club and if there is a C ride on Easter Sunday I will happily join in - I don't have group ride experience as yet. So will keep an eye out on the C ride thread and hope to meet you soon.
Hi @Vincent_Azmi I don't know if there's an ICC Garmin group but there is one on Strava, and most people sync their rides to Strava directly in any case (it doesn't count if it's not on Strava, right?!) My experience of the Garmin connect app was that it was clunky and frustrating and not necessary if you're already on Strava.
