Hello @kp @SophiakH @user159145 @laurat @Pauline @SpeedyGonzales @user159244 @albin
@OttoOtto @FrancoisALooking forward to seeing you all on Saturday for your group skills session.
In the interests of full disclosure (and as someone who's a bit obsessed with their weather app) at the moment, the forecast is for rain for the whole of the morning on Saturday. This may change, however, we do not cancel the sessions if it's raining. They will always run unless there is severe weather such as snow and ice.
Please can you reconfirm your attendance by copying the numbered list below and adding your name.
I'm sure you will appreciate that riding in the rain is not everyone's favourite pastime but as a volunteer-run club, we do have club members who have committed to leading the introductory sessions come rain or shine.
If you are no longer able to attend, please remove yourself in advance by clicking the button at the top of the page. Volunteers give up their time and plan their other commitments around this session so I hope you will understand that if you are a no-show on the day, we reserve the right to restrict your attendance on a future session.
For those of you braving it, please do come dressed for the weather! The first portion of the morning is off the bikes, so wrap up warm and bring a waterproof jacket.

Group Skills is a session for prospective members of ICC which teaches group riding skills so that we can ride together more safely, more sociably and with less effort.
If you wish to join ICC you must complete Group Skills before applying for membership of the club.
You can find out more about the session and what to bring on this page, which also lists special requirements for under-18s: https://islington.cc/intro-rides
Before attending please read our Group Skills Guide, our Ride Etiquette and special Ride Etiquette for Regent’s Park:
https://islington-cc.squarespace.com/s/ICC-Group-Riding-Guide.pdf

ABOUT YOU
You should be used to cycling regularly, familiar with your bike and confident riding it on London's roads. If you've only just bought your bike, take it out for a couple of spins on your own before you join a group ride with us.
You should have a moderate level of fitness. For our general club rides you should be able to ride 50 km at an average speed of at least 20kph on the flat, with several steep hills and only brief stops. For Regent’s Park you should expect to cycle at an average speed of at least 24kph, with the benefit of riding in a tight group.
If you're not yet comfortable at that distance or pace please build up with solo rides before coming along.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer this session to complete cycling beginners as we are not teaching cycling proficiency.
HOW DO I JOIN IN?
